Audrine Finnerty, President
Audrine is mother to senior Becky and is excited to be a part of the PTO Board. She has volunteered for various events at John Paul – but her most favorite annual event is the Wine Tasting! Becky and Audrine moved to Tallahassee from the Cleveland area in August, 2009 – just 2 weeks before Becky started her freshman year at John Paul II. In Ohio, Audrine and her husband David (deceased) had their own law practice and she also served as General Counsel for 15 years at Stewart Real Estate Title, a real estate title and escrow company. Audrine was a nine-year volunteer at her daughter’s parish school, served on several local non-profit boards and volunteered in many capacities for the Girl Scout Council of North East Ohio. When not busy volunteering, Audrine works full time for the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity and assists counties and non-profits plan and implement programs that help Florida citizens get the education and assistance needed to obtain meaningful full time employment. Audrine loves recruiting volunteers, so if you see her heading your way – get ready!
Steve Hourigan, President-Elect
Steve is married to Lisa Vanderwerf-Hourigan and they are the proud parents of incoming freshman Erin. After 10 years at Trinity Catholic School, Erin, Class of 2016, is looking forward to playing volleyball for the John Paul II Volleyball Team. In addition to serving as President-Elect of the PTO Board, Steve also serves on the John Paul II Board of Directors, the John Paul II Finance Committee and the Building and Grounds Committee. This is Steve’s third year serving on the John Paul II Board of Directors and he has also been serving on the Trinity Catholic School Board for the past four years. The Hourigans are 10-year residents of SouthWood. Steve is a Realtor and Lisa works for the Department of Health for the State of Florida. Erin’s job is getting good grades!
Tami Samper, Vice President
Tami is the Firm Administrator at Dutko Poole McKinley, a Tallahassee lobbying firm where she has been for 16 years. Tami and her husband Tony (retired Law Enforcement) have two children; both attended Trinity Catholic and John Paul II. Their son Tony graduated with the Class of 2011, and their daughter Olivia is in the Class of 2015. The Sampers have been involved over the years with many school functions and events, however, Tami’s main focus has been with the Athletic Booster Club. Over the last four years she has worked tirelessly for the Boosters by fundraising, volunteering and serving as the Secretary on the Booster Board.
Karen Koelemij, Treasurer
Karen will be serving her third year as Treasurer of the PTO board and is mother to Anna, Class of 2014. Karen, a Tallahassee native, is President of Orange State Construction, Inc., and is a graduate of Blessed Sacrament, Leon High, TCC & FSU. Karen has been involved with John Paul II since its inception, serves as Chair of the Finance Committee for the John Paul II Board of Directors and provides a wealth of institutional knowledge. Karen also serves as a Life Director in the local, state and national builders associations and is a member of Springtime Tallahassee, War & Reconstruction Krewe.
Veronica Gutierrez, Secretary
Veronica is the proud mother of Kennedie Bright, Class of 2013, and Rendon Bright, Class of 2016. Veronica is an official court reporter in the Second Judicial Circuit and has been in the court reporting field for ten years. Veronica served as Secretary for the Student Advisory Board in Fort Worth, Texas, Secretary for the Cub Scouts as well as Spirit Shop mom for Trinity Catholic School for the past five years. Veronica has volunteered at Trinity Catholic School and John Paul II for the past ten years and has been a great help with SouthWoodstock, the Wine Tasting and many other activities at John Paul II. Veronica looks forward to the opportunity to help the parents, teachers, and administration in any way possible.
